Bahamas Historical Society Meetings I –
Capt. Sherouse took an interest in the history of Sweetings Cay upon his first visit in 1995 and has interviewed nearly all of the elderly folks there while also looking at the scant archival and written record; it has made for a very interesting study. The written account will be featured in the upcoming Journal of the Bahamas Historical Society. The talk was well attended and a well received. In the picture, from L to R: Jim Lawlor (President BHS), Mrs McCardy from Sweeting’s Cay, Captain Scott Sherouse, Ph.D, and Miss McCardy. (Photo courtesty of Andrea Major.)
